Now, I don’t completely know how well or if at all the following will work, but it IS a proposal I think would work best for the situation we’re all  in.

As you know, we have been having MANY new towny issues. There are people complaining that people are blocking their towns, towns can’t expand, etc. The new Towny Rules was a half well-executed plan by skills641, and though it may have worked to some extent, people have continued to do the usual complaining. Here’s mah idea, though I probably looked over something, so just reply to me if I forgot something essential.

The core of our issue is that there is no room. Solution? No need for towny rules, or anything of that sort. It’s a simple solution, really. Make more room.

Now, I know this may sound dumb, but I have run a server, and I know that the WorldBorder plugin we use can be modified and quite expanded. Is that such an issue? The size of only 2-3 plots can have a HUGE impact on new towns expanding, and more room, so that towns don’t become so crowded. Huge towns like HappyTown who have reached a border with other towns can have more room to expand and such. Overall, it’s the simplest, most debate-less way to go. Some HeadMod or Borncorp, please do get back to me.

Sorry Vote Down, don’t need to read the entire thing, but i got this.

Ain’t ur first time talking bout this at all. When you are telling born to extend world borders, you are making the server lag more and create more towns and have more server lag and entitilites. Making more room is good, but think about it, it will need to expand ram of the server and i don’t think it can cause it runs on a dedicated server which hosts all of those four servers.

Just saying, bigger world, bigger lagg,

    bigger world, bigger towns

    and bigger world, bigger cheaters

This is my first time talking of this, first of all

Additionally, it’s not making the world bigger. The world is already at least 2344440x bigger than what we explore now. All WorldBorder does is expand how far a player can go. Also, a bigger world does not mean bigger lag, as again, the “bigger world” has already been there. Additionally, if you look at the few donations we’ve had recently, they DO end up going to the server, and RAM can both be afforded, even though I think that it wouldn’t be so necessary. But, then again, maybe you’re right, I want some mod to tell me what may happen due to this.

The dedication server did cause some things to change a bit.

Bigger world means there will be more chunk errors like we have right now and before.

I also don’t get ur point about the more doners parts and what they are doing.

World borders also mean making the world bigger and more area for people to explore. A minecraft world can be as big as u want pretty much…

Actually Born has increased the world border at least once, as Blue Sky Mines used to be right on the border, I think it has been increased twice actually, not sure.
Increasing the world border doesn’t drastically increase memory as mentioned above, the lag increase would be unnoticeable, you’d only see major lag if you made the map 3 or 4 times wider than it currently is, which I doubt Born would do, he’d likely only increase it by a few chunks if at all. Terrain generation is fine as I’ve gone beyond the borders using methods I wont mention, and the terrain is fine there, the chunk errors that currently exist are unrelated to world border and are actually caused by wilderness wipes.
That being said though, extending the wilderness won’t fix the problem of ghost towns that have no active members yet millions in their banks keeping their towns there for years to come.

Having a bigger map generates more lag, its not related to RAM, but to CPU.  If I expand the map and it lags I wont be able to shrink it back, so I dont think thats a good solution. I have the idea of maybe one day make another server for town making, but that hasnt been decided yet

You could trial it born what you will need to do if you do is go into the server files and im sure you know there will be a world folder open that and there will be a region folder in there will be files like r.0.o.mca or r.-2.1 the numbers vary simple write down the first one and the last one then expand the boarder add whatever warnings you need broadcast like “Build in the new chunks at own risk they may be removed” then if it cause lag remove anything above the one you wrote down first and anything after the one you wrote down last.

There is only one problem i for see and that is that i think you now run all of the servers on one map and i have never worked on a server which does that but i believe if that is the case you would need the names of all the file’s in the region folder there are many ways you could do that like print sceening/sceen shot’s the folder but that could take along time so i cant realy see you doing it.

Born skills remove /warp ice and my bridge and it’s not a snail trail and it has BUILDINGS ON IT TO! I don’t approve of skills new town rule it’s kinda stupid. and who would care how it looks? it kinda looks cool not how skills says “ugly”. and warp ice is now WILD!

In this situation Born would be right. I am pretty experienced with servers and hosting them as I have my own servers for my friends to play on. I host this server at my house and I have experienced lag in the past. If we increased the borders there would be more room for players to spread around which loads more chunks which causes more lag. I also believe that this would not cause a issue with not enough RAM but rather the CPU being maxed out. The only solution that I see would be to host the Creative, Arena’s and Super Smash servers on a separate computer and have the Survival to be hosted on its own computer. This would also though allow for more player slots to be added and also have less lag in general. Just an idea even though it is not efficient if you will I see it as the only option. Sad to say but this might be the only way.
