I understand that a lot of people are taking criticism for being a mod as a bad thing but when you think about it , its kind of helpful.
Criticism is a way to show of what mistakes you made, and they tell you to improve yourself.I’m not saying criticism is the best thing ever but if your gonna be a mod your gonna have to deal with a lot of hate. For example, Skills had lots of hate through his career as a mod.So for the mods and the rest of the server, am I explaining this right criticize me if I’m wrong I’ll then learn to improve.Final Sentence:Take criticism as a way to improve from your peers.

AGREED!
Thanks for making this post. I hope some members understand this and help them make their way through this process.
I usually don’t post in mod apps, but when I do it’s usually to criticize.
I don’t do it to better the people making the applications, but because I seriously believe they should never under any circumstances be in a moderator position.
I see so many apps that should never have been made in the first place, some where they apply only because they feel entitled, have an overinflated sense of self-importance – big egos, and/or a god complex.
I see other apps where the people seemingly don’t even know what moderators do, but are applying because everyone else is, or they think being a mod will make them cool or popular, or even put them in a position of power they can abuse. Some times people apply for attention too.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen players rage-quit because their mod application was rejected, or they received down votes.
I’d estimate that 50% of mod applications are made for nefarious purposes, a further 49% are made out of ignorance, and 1% are serious applications that should immediately be accepted.
Being a mod is serious business. It’s job with duties, obligations, and responsibilities.
Sorry for the wall of text, I want to say more as I feel strongly about the being a mod, as I’ve been a moderator, an admin, a developer, a modder and other various tasks in the gaming world for around about 15 years… But even with all of my experience and knowledge I’d rather be playing the game instead of making it and moderating it. Being a mod should be an epic task to take on, yet most people seem to see it as something else.
I agree, I have seen players say there should be no criticism but it is the only way to fix the flaws you have.
Exactly! Constructive Criticism is the best way for you to improve, and rather get all angry over it and defensive, you should take it as a way to improve, because this is how others see you! People that say ‘If you think this is bad please do not say anything’ or something like that need to learn that in order to improve you need to take criticism. The only problem is that sometimes people don’t know the difference between constructive criticism and the point where it becomes offensive
