Mods Not Helping?

This post isn’t directed at anyone in particular. It’s just a trend I’ve noticed and decided to point out. I’m not going to sugar coat it or anything; I’m just going to say it. So sorry if I offend anyone, but this needs to be pointed out

Mods are there for YOUR benefit and to help YOU with any game issues you have or any help you need. Remember that they were chosen for a reason. Just because you don’t see them helping or they are playing MA or PVP’ing at /warp pvp doesn’t mean that they don’t help. A lot of members that need help from mods often message them, so a lot of help that the mods give often goes unnoticed. If the mods happen to say something like “I’m busy” when you ask them a question, rather than say “Oh they don’t help because they just say ‘I’m Busy’”, have you guys ever considered the possibility that maybe that particular mod is helping someone else, or is actually busy? Remember that you’re not the only member that needs help, sometimes a whole load of members need help clearing chests, or working out a command or anything like that, and the mods have to put these people in line and help them out 1 at a time.

You guys need to realise that mods are humans to. They were all once members just like you (that rhymes :D). They all have feelings and they all react to the way you treat them. Bossing them around, or not asking politely isn’t helping these mods, and it doesn’t speed them up either, since mods already work to the best of their abilities. I’m sure you guys have heard the saying ‘Treat others the way you want to be treated’ and online is no different. The hard truth is, sometimes you just aren’t the top priority right then, because there maybe another issue that’s a bigger on the server at that moment. But that doesn’t mean that they forget about you, or that you aren’t important. Everyone is important; it’s just that sometimes there are bigger and more important issues going on. You need to understand that even if they cannot help you the very second you need help, they will help you eventually.

What I suggest to do for now is to be more patient. Don’t spam them with requests, otherwise it’ll get confused with other requests for help, and it could possibly be lost in the amount of spam from others. Also, treat them nicely. Seriously, take into consideration their feelings about this whole situation if you boss them around or tell them how to do their job. Just because a mod isn’t helping you doesn’t mean that they aren’t helping at all, and that doesn’t give you the right to go bossing them around and telling them what to do because they aren’t helping you. It’s not a nice feeling to have someone go around telling you how to do your own job. Like I have said, they were chosen for a reason, and they would know what they’re doing. If they say they are unable to do it or that they don’t have the perms, it’s actually because they don’t have the perms, or they are unable to do it. If you don’t believe them when they don’t give you the answer you wanted then whats the point of asking them in the first place. When they say this, don’t be like ‘Yes you can you’re an expert/guardian/admin’. Trust them when they say that they can’t, and usually in this situation they will refer you to someone who can instead. Also, it’s not a nice feeling to have your name spammed in the chat and a lot of people spamming you with ‘Hurry up you’re so slow’. As well as this, You NEED to understand that just because they aren’t helping you, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t helping. You aren’t the only person on the server that needs help and those that do will be doing the same thing as you; ask a mod for help. Of course, if it has been a while and you still haven’t gotten help from mods, its ok to remind them. But politely ask them, don’t demand for help! It puts a sour mood on the mods as well as on you, so no one is happy in that situation. In conclusion, you need to understand that mods have feelings like all of us, and they aren’t perfect. Mods aren’t machines, they are humans. You are not the only member on the server, and you need to understand that. And a lot of people will probably say ‘They should have known about this when they took the job’ but honestly, there comes a point when its not the mods that need to change and be more mature, it’s the members. I know I’m probably going to get a lot of hate/criticism, but I’m ok with that. I just really need to point this issue out. Thanks for reading guys

PS: Oh, and 1 last thing. Mods are here to help, but that doesn’t make them your personal slaves. Asking them to get items for you for free or to give you a service such as helping you lay dirt is NOT what they’re there for. So please be considerate of mods and just let them do their job without stressing them out, because a stressed and pressured mod isn’t the best mod, and they won’t be able to do their job properly.
