If you’re going to start jailing people for griefing wilderness near towns, you should change the rule to: Griefing and PvP is allowed in the Wild except for areas an within an arbitrary range of a town which will be decided based on the mods’ opinion of you.

Either that, make griefing and PvP banned outright (which is going to be hell to enforce), or stop jailing people for griefing near towns (unless its blatantly obnoxious). PvP should be allowed anywhere, even right outside a town.

It is blatantly obnoxious, with player attempting to find loopholes and intentionally doing it just to get around the rules. Which is why you are being jailed, crappyaim.

The rules are fine the way they are, and people who try to bend them will face the same consequence as you.
As stated, the rules are; but not limited to what they constitute.

It’s not a loophole if it’s explicitly stated in the rules, nor can one “get around the rules” by exactly toeing the line.

Sure, the rules are not limited to what is displayed, but your new rules are contradicting the rules already given. “Griefing and PvP is allowed in the Wild.” This is not a rule which limits our actions. This is a rule which explicitly and precisely states the limits of our actions. This is a rule permitting griefing and PvP in the wild. Perhaps that’s a distinction that’s too fine to comprehend with a cursory glance.

Griefing and PvP is allowed in the Wild, but not limited to those locations. If it is disruptive, annoying, obstructive, or any other negative traits, it is therefore a negative reaction from the community which is the mods’ jobs to solve. Which we have taken action to benefit the majority of the server, rather than 1 person such as you for fulfilling the evil pleasure of ruining the game for members that would rather have fun that have to ask a mod to get rid of somebody’s locked furnaces right outside of their town.

Therefore, rules exist to benefit and protect the players from such happenings. It is a moderator’s proper choice to solve immoral incidents for the benefit of the majority.

I’m not sure you understand what I’m trying to say. I’m not trying to change your opinions on what types of griefing is allowed. That arbitrary line is for the server owners and moderators to draw. I’m saying that the rule permitting griefing and PvP is not followed.

I’m saying that the blanket rule permitting griefing and PvP in the wild is as accurate as saying that the domain on a function is all real numbers, and then adding a restriction from four to six. What you have done is exactly the same, you state in the rules that griefing and PvP is allowed in the wild, and then restricting perpetual town griefing and griefing near towns. A better alternative is stating that griefing and PvP is permitted away from towns. Why? That eliminates the contradiction in rules between the permission of griefing and PvP in all wilderness and the prohibition in PvP in wilderness close to towns.

Then we shall clarify the rules to the bidding of the oblivious and illogical.

    Thank you for your time.
