I suggest this plugin (http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/coloredtablist/) because new/old players need to know if ranked (e.g. donaters and expert mods) are online. By only pressing tab.

Agreed, many new members were spamming ‘IS THERE A MOD ON!’ and such.
Another mod with tells you when a mod logs on
