I have 2 recommendations for you guys to cut down the red stone lags.
1. Instant elevator signs: http://www.curse.com/bukkit-plugins/minecraft/liftsign
2. Buildcraft with pipes: http://www.minecraft12.com/buildcraft-mod/
This 2 mods are very effective and resource efficient, lowering the need for complex redstone systems and other additional materials (including stairs).
Also makes a good way to create smart and compact auto-farms. So give me a feedback please if you would like to consider imbedding this mods in your servers I know this will help me, personally, a lot.

I don’t think neither of this plugins will be installed here. It makes things more efficient. But it makes things easier and all. Things might be much more boring if this plugin is gonna be installed.

That’s A Good Idea seularts so that the redstone lags be cut down.
maxminoS trust me, things will be better like this. I played with this plugins and it doesn’t make anything boring. You would not imagine what a relief it would be for players to quit making stairs for a whole that is 100 blocks deep. As for the pipes, it will make farms more compact and easier to build and you will get resources faster than you would do with a redstone clock that lags your chunk when used.
Also I have one more plugin to recommend. This is a very simple but, I think, useful for anyone: http://www.curse.com/bukkit-plugins/minecraft/disposalsign
I used to make droppers with redstone clock on top of lava to throw away junk, but when I saw this plugin it made everything so much nicer. For one you don’t have to wait like before when a dropper threw all your stuff in the lava in your presence, in that chunk, and this sign works on the basis of a container, so it’s mega easy to use.
Pipes cannot be added due to the fact that it would require a client side mod. Thats a big nono
Oh, I did not know that, well maybe there is something similar to it, that isn’t a client side mod
I love it, but it doesn’t fit into the survival server profile. We may add something like this in a tekkit-like server. This would affect the mechanics of minecraft too much and in those cases I rather make a new server.
That would be a good idea, tr out some test on a new server see how it works out and maybe who knows some good ideas will come out of it ^^
