Mod Apps are getting too much drama…
So recently, I can see that a lot of people are applying for mod. Some are beginners and some are okay, and some are pretty good. There are a lot of people, different race, different language, and different thinking. Im trying to say that everyone only votes down now. They don’t even say a SINGLE thing that is good about them. I know people make mistakes and might have a bad history, but members are using very lame and stupid excuses to vote down.Members are giving excuse such as “You didn’t try hard enough since your mod app is too short” That is simply invalid. Mod apps can be simply short and to the point. That is simply invalid.
If you were applying for mod and people all gave you vote downs just simply you made a mistake on mod application, what would you do. You have a good reputation and believe that you can help improve the server. You have to think of yourself in that person’s point of view.I would like to end this by saying,
Give helpful suggestions to members on applying to mod applications if they messed up
READ the mod application and give a VALID reason to vote up or downYou can choose to listen or not, but your vote is somewhat important. It’s still your opinion about that player being mod, and I cannot control what you say, but I give u a advice.

We vote how we vote wither. People always have there reasons for voting up, middle or down. Also, an extremely short mod app. shows that little to no effort was put into it. For some, the reason to become mod is: I want to help so please make me a mod. That IS a valid reason to vote down. If a vote is invalid its up to the recruiters and others to determine this.
There are some good people out there, and they might have made a mistake such as “Username’s Mob App”
That was a HIT and EVERYONE vote down…
He was a beginner. Seriously?

Once again like the quote in blons post, its not voting if you/we cant show our opinions.
Wither, let me tell you what i do know.
When you give a reason, you dont want to be “to the point”. you want to let them know why you would be a good choice for moderator.
Second, they shouldnt be a “beginner” and applying. they have to be registered for atleast a month to be eligible. and if they just registered for only a month, then that explains why they get vote downs. because they have been here long enough for anyone to know them.
Lastly, if someone gives a vote just cos they dont like the person, its easy to spot. the vote wont count. but you have to understand, EVERYONE, is free to their opinion.“It’s not voting if we can’t show our opinions” -Trollson
Gotta love dat quote,
“Thanks blon 😛 ”

Wither honestly, people should be able to vote no matter what and be entitled to their opinion no matter how crappy it is. Moderators who look at the app will be able to tell the genuine comments apart from the crappy ones when deciding who to choose for the next group that will be promoted. You haven’t seen vote ups lately, but I have rarely due to the fact I’ve seen really bad mod apps lately [Bad to the point one pathetic user I had to hold myself back from barraging him with insults instead of helpful comments!]. If they are beginner, they shouldn’t even be applying for a moderator’s position. Sure they might know every command out there, but again, different servers have different ways they work! Yes people who vote down without a good reason, they are just being retarded, but some people vote down for specific reasons that are honest to their opinion. They aren’t trying to gun down anyone, they are trying to tell them they aren’t ready yet and trust me, those vote downs when providing correct points, the candidate who is reading them will try and put them to effect on him/herself if they are willing to.
Wither, I don’t care if you hate seeing vote downs. People are free to their opinion and yet again I repeat, its the mods decision in the end on adding the person to the team and they will tell the fake garbage comments apart from the real genuine ones.
Almost everything is said in the few posts above. But:
Recently, 60% of the mod apps have been posted without template, or something bugs the player who submits it (Ex: Previous tag, ban, etc.).
“Read the mod app and give a valid reason to vote up or down”: I’ll be quite impressed if you show me someone who doesn’t do that, and get his vote counted.
“They don’t say a single thing that is good about them”: You can’t talk using generality. It can be the fault of the voters, who don’t agree, but you need to consider the mod app of the player, and himself. Sometimes, it is suspicious, I do agree: Some of.. Let’s say us search for the smallest reason to vote down, and hide it in a big paragraph, but really, this counts as 1%. And I don’t think high ranked mods would even count it.
Another reason why there are a lot of down votes: The high requirements.
Don’t you see what is expected from a Trial Mod? Not everyone can match them. But, players think to be fit for when they aren’t: This shows they don’t know their true capabilities. Also, a lot of mod apps are written really fast, like an identity card, and this would surely make the mod app small, and most likely bad. It would show the lack of inspiration, and imagination.Make a vote rule where you have to say AT LEAST ONE good thing about there mod app UNLESS it’s incomplete/VERY crappy (and I mean VERRRRY crappy).
I get your point, but all of you guys are being so strict. When one messed up, they list what they did wrong and everyone else after that person says the same thing. Instead of being so strict, can we at least help people who are not used and need help instead.
I’m just trying to say, Can’t you guys be nicer to new members making a forum their first time. At least give them a hint and not be so mean? I see how when one person vote does, the rest combats them and continue the vote down.
“Can’t you guys be nicer to new members making a forum their first time.”
Let me just NO! If they are new members trying to make a new topic as a mod app then we can be as harsh as we want. They need to have experience in both the server and the forums. If that’s their first topic which they don’t know how to create without help from someone else then explain to me why are we going to vote up when he is just a starter (I really find “noob” a bit too harsh since gamers use that as an insult).
“I see how when one person vote does, the rest combats them and continue the vote down.” D.. Dude, that’s the point. When someone votes down on something the others realize that they missed stuff that makes those who create mod apps fail, and then use these reasons to vote him down, or middle. And I know that this was repeated too much by others but I am just going to say it again: It is our opinion to vote up, middle, or down. As long as there are reasons, and it’s very rare we find an invalid vote down, then the vote is counted. But if you don’t find this a good thing, then you should also be talking about those who vote up for “reasons that are listed above.”I’m stuck in the middle because
1- Agree with wither because everyone deserves a chance. There will always be haters and people who want to give a good opinion but are not confident and so many near good potential people get rejected
2- everyone has a right for their own opinion and such because that’s their POV but the thing is your POV may affect other POVs so it may be overlap
All in all, its pretty much how you use the opinions of other to improve yourself as a better person to make yourself out there for people to look up toIts a fact that we only look at the legit votes. Meaning votes like:
”Vote down to short mod app” or “‘Vote down no template” -
